Welcome note

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Eberhard-Karls-University Tübingen it is my pleasure to invite you to join and participate in the 2025 “Novel Concepts in Innate Immunity” (NCII) conference, planned to be held from 10–13 June 2025 in Tübingen and digitally. This 6th NCII meeting is especially exciting as it commemorates the 40th anniversary of the 1985 discovery of the Drosophila Toll receptor, a milestone in the exploration of innate immunity. Please mark the date!

We have already lined up an exciting list of invited speakers and especially look forward to a “40th anniversary session” with keynote speakers Bruno Lemaitre and Luke O’Neill who will review the amazing progress and developments in the field as a whole.

As in the previous NCIIs, we hope to bring to you many of the most interesting new trends across a range of topics in innate immunity. The packed scientific program will be enhanced by an attractive industrial exhibition and a fun social program, as well as a chance to meet the editors of notable immunological journals.

You can actively contribute to the meeting by submitting abstracts for presentations on your current research work and results. We highly encourage both established and junior researchers to do so and multiple abstracts will again be selected for plenary oral presentations or lightning talks to prominently feature and discuss exciting new results you’d like to share. All posters and talks will compete for poster and talk prizes.

Abstract submission will probably open in October 2024, a time you might want to note in your calendar already.

We will be very happy to welcome you in June 2025 in the beautiful University city of Tübingen and look forward to an exciting meeting!

Yours sincerely,
Alexander N. R. Weber
